Yesterday, I had a parent teacher conference with Mia's second grade teacher. She gave me Mia's scores from her "aimsweb" assessment. Aimsweb is a universal screening, progress monitoring, and data management system. It gives educators the insights they need to help a student learn. For the fall semester, a child in second grade needs to have a score of 63 in reading. Mia got 104. In math, a child needs 16 and Mia got 38! By the end of second grade, a child needs 107 in reading and 40 in math. So, she is basically at the end of second grade in her learning. I am so proud of her and want her to continue to be ahead so the teacher suggested working on more advanced reading and get ahead in math.
